Varieties of blackjack online

If you are a fan of blackjack now you can play it online. And in this mode there are different variations that allow you to choose when you sit in front of your computer to play in the time you have.
One of the varieties of blackjack online is the “Switch”. Its rules are basically the same as in the original blackjack. This means that you must achieve a play to the nearest 21. The main difference with the original is the way of payment. While in the “Switch” is paid one by one, the first is paid three to two.
Another of the alternatives that can be found at the blackjack online is the “Progressive”. The biggest difference of this modality with respect to the original is that the player or punter can place a bet apart before receiving the cards.
On the other hand, there is also blackjack “Surrender”, where the main distinctive feature is that the player or punter has the chance to surrender early after receiving its first two cards.
Finally, if you play online blackjack you will find a new way to play this entertainment which is the “Triple 7″. Here you will discover several similarities and resemblances to the progressive blackjack. One is that the player can make an additional wager, with which he will have the chance to reap greater profits

The blackjack in the early Sixties

There are currently a large number of blackjack systems and have even been created computer programs that help us to overcome our opponents in the games of online blackjack.
But we must remember that only existed by 1956 an article published in the Journal of the American Statistical Association. Developed by Baldwin, Cantey, Maisel, and McDermott, the system was a basic strategy that in the long term, gave a huge advantage to any blackjack player.
That article had no impact, as it was a technical paper, which blackjack players not usually accessed. But as many know, that article came up to the hands of Dr. Edward O. Thorp, who after reading and testing the system, was inspired to add a count of cards which was described in his book Beat the Dealer, published in 1962.
Thorp’s book contained almost all of what was known of blackjack in the early sixties. The first edition included a discussion on the use of an alternative count of aces with betting purposes.
Also introduced the use of counting points as a guide to bet while using a count of ten to play. The second edition contained a basic strategy and counting of ups and downs, which was introduced by Harvey Dubner at the Fall Joint Computer Conference in 1963.
We could say that in the sixties the casino blackjack game became popular. Since there the casinos began to take safe measures against the ones who counted cards. That made that the counting systems became increasingly easier and more efficient. A new era for blackjack was starting.

Blackjack strategies after Thorp

After that Dr. Edward Thorp published in “Beat the Dealer” its strategy for blackjack, many players realized that his counting system was too complex to include it in the game. But it must be acknowledged that the publications of that book awaken the cunning of other players who began to develop their own blackjack strategies and less complex counting systems.
This was how systems such as counting systems of five were born, where it was required only to be counting how many cards with that number remaining in the deck. If there were fewer than half the 5, the game would be favorable to the player; therefore he should raise its bid.
Also emerged some strategies of blackjack somewhat more advanced, but continued being even simpler than Thorp’s system, because these not required the use of arithmetic in order to implement them. In fact, it was only required concentration and to pay attention to all cards. The idea was to count and record cards previously in order to decide whether the deck could be favorable or not. One strategy that can easily be used today in a game online blackjack.
Then would arouse the famous computer simulations, which allowed to simulate up to a million hands. This gave the opportunity to make comparisons between different real blackjack strategies and their possible results in the same hand.
These are simple examples of the myriad of systems, methods and strategies of blackjack that exist. It is very important for any player appropriating one. Learning to use it to perfection will avoid major losses in the long run. Besides, once attained certain level of the game and gained some practice, can opt for any system or strategy for blackjack players, which will allow you to increase your profits in the future.

Pontoon: another way of playing blackjack

Those who know how to play blackjack notice that the “Pontoon” is, you could say, a variant of blackjack, some also call it the twenty-one. This story tells that before they began to play blackjack, the French had created the “Vingt et un” or twenty one in Spanish. The beginning of this game can be traced back to the time of French casinos, all of the eighteenth century. But when they reached the shores of North America, the game didn’t cause a good impact, which casinos began to offer variations on this game.
Generally there are slight variations of the “Pontoon”, especially when playing in the online version, where you can see the differences quickly, but in general it is very easy to play. Like when playing blackjack, the goal is to get as closer as possible to 21, without going. Two opened or discovered cards are dealt for each player, and two covered or closed to the dealer.
The following is a short list detailing the main features of the “Pontoon”, which differentiate from playing blackjack:
– You can get the “5 card trick,” which is when a player removes 5 cards without going over 21, regardless the total value of your hand, wherever is over 17.
– Players must ask for cards when they have a hand of 15 or less. On the other hand, when playing blackjack you can be planted with any number, no matter is greater or less than 15.
– The cards from the dealer are dealt face down and remain so until the players plant or burn.
– After doubling, players can get as many cards as they wish.

Blackjack Institute

This is an initiative by Michael Aponte and David Irvine, two former members of the blackjack team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the decade of 90 that created the basic strategy, a table of probabilities with which the team won millions of dollars in the biggest casinos in Las Vegas.
The idea of this new initiative is to provide training and instruction so that beginners are increasingly more likely to win at blackjack. This could become an ideal tool for all those who have just started in the world of online casinos and still know nothing about strategies and tips for winning at blackjack. Even the techniques offered here could quietly be applied in a real casino or in a home game.
It is worth recalling that the MIT team emerges from an optional course that the school offered about gambling. From there the group obtained a resounding success worldwide with its techniques and methods for winning at blackjack.
The proposal of Blackjack Institute is to provide a training system similar to the one used by MIT to train its members. Bear in mind that methods used there are based on the counting of cards, with clear and distinct steps, making it easy to apply to anyone with intentions of winning at blackjack.
The course is offered through books and DVD formats, that means that is a long distance training, without leaving your home. Another possibility is to participate in the trainings and seminars given by Aponte and Irving.
